Achieve Renewable Energy LLC of Massachusetts and its sole director Lawrence “Larry” Lessard are no strangers to lawsuits. They have filed lawsuits against other companies as well as their own customers. They have also been sued by various entities, including customers. This website will provide some documents, media, and information from these lawsuits as well as guide you to other sources of information on Achieve Renewable Energy’s lawsuits.
I wish a website like this had existed before I was lured into hiring Achieve Renewable Energy to install a geothermal heating and cooling system in our home in 2018. Achieve Renewable Energy botched the design and installation in numerous ways. They botched it so badly that it could not adequately heat or cool our home; and instead of cutting our home’s heating costs in half as Larry Lessard promised, it actually skyrocketed our heating costs.
At first, I tried to get Larry Lessard and his company Achieve Renewable Energy to fix their mistakes. They refused and instead insisted that my house needed improvement, not their botched system installation. I filed complaints with the MA Attorney General’s Consumer Protection division and the Better Business Bureau. That did no good, as Achieve Renewable Energy just responded with lies and false accusations against me, even though I had paid them in full and given them ample opportunity to fix their botched installation.
More competent tradespeople’s assessments and quotes to fix the many deficiencies and building code violations involving the geothermal unit itself, the ducting, the electrical work, and the geothermal wells amounted to tens of thousands of dollars. Achieve Renewable Energy refused to pay for the needed repairs, so I was left with no viable alternative but to file suit against Achieve Renewable Energy in MA Superior Court.
Achieve Renewable Energy demanded that I retract my online reviews of it and my complaints to those consumer protection agencies—not because there was anything false about them but because Achieve Renewable Energy simply couldn’t stand the public criticism. I refused to remove or retract the reviews and complaints, as I think it’s important for the public good that victims of incompetent and unethical tradespeople not be bullied into silence. Subsequently, Achieve Renewable Energy seemed to receive a bunch of new positive reviews from purported customers on Yelp, Google, and the BBB website. My factual, more informative review that was compliant with Google’s review policy was removed from public view on Google with no explanation—perhaps because someone didn’t like the review? (You can view my review of Achieve Renewable Energy by clicking this link but as of this writing it no longer appears in ARE’s public profile on Google.) And despite Achieve Renewable Energy having responded to my Better Business Bureau complaint with lies and false accusations that I refuted with documentation to the Better Business Bureau, Achieve Renewable Energy retained its “A+” rating. So much for the credibility of BBB business ratings.
On other pages of this website I will provide information, documents, and media from my lawsuit against Achieve Renewable Energy as well as information and documents from other lawsuits by and against Achieve Renewable Energy LLC. In the spring of 2021 there is a good deal of activity scheduled in my lawsuit against Achieve Renewable Energy. As recordings, transcripts, and other information from these events become available, I may post them on this site.
